STAM1NA To Enter Studio In September

August 21, 2007

Lemi, Finland-based heavy metal quartet STAM1NA will enter Purple Fly studio in its hometown on September 10 to begin recording its third album. Production duties will be handled by Janne Joutsenniemi whose legendary band STONE was one of the STAM1NA's biggest influences. Miitri Aaltonen, who produced the first two STAM1NA albums, will mix the new CD, which has the working title "Raja". An early 2008 release is expected.

Regarding the band's collaboration with Janne Joutsenniemi, STAM1NA guitarist/vocalist Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen said, "This is a match made in heaven and a big step for the band. Janne will most certainly bring his own thing to this album. Let's [put] it this way: The mustard machine is still the same but Janne changes our diapers."

Hyyrynen continued: "About the lyrical part I can say that again we search, explore and try both our and boundaries of humanity. During the last few years we have tried our limits and probably gone even beyond them."

STAM1NA was formed in 1996 and has released two albums so far: "Stam1na" (2005) and "Uudet Kymmenen Käskyä" (2006),which landed at No. 3 on the Finnish album chart and received the 2006 Emma award for "Best Metal Album".
